Robert Matos-Moran has over a decade of high-level State and Federal experience. Widely respected for his effectiveness, integrity, and compassion, Rob brings a solutions-oriented approach and well-regarded relationships in Trenton and throughout the state.
Rob spent nearly 5 years in Governor Murphy’s administration, serving as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the last two years. In this role, he led the legislative affairs team and worked closely with the NJ Legislature and Executive Branch departments.
Rob previously worked in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. In these roles, Rob engaged advocacy leaders to turn nuanced community issues into legislative and policy victories.
As a first-generation American, Rob believes in service through consensus-building, uplifting voices, and facilitating community-based solutions. The son of Peruvian and Portuguese immigrants, he loves to immerse himself in his cultures through food, art, and music.
Rob is also the Vice President of the New Jersey Leadership Collective, a 2019 New Leaders Council Fellow, a New Jersey Governor’s Hispanic Fellow, an Eagle Scout, a New Jersey Democratic State Committee Build Our Future graduate, and a former Co-Chair of the New Jersey Young Democrats Latino Caucus.
Rob is also an alumnus of The College of New Jersey. In his free-time, Rob enjoys supporting the arts, cheering on his favorite soccer team Everton FC, and playing tennis.
