Kevin P. McCabe is a partner and director of Public and Political Affairs at River Crossing Strategy Group, where he brings decades of experience in New Jersey politics, government, and labor relations. He joined the firm in 2020 following a distinguished public service career that includes serving as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development under Governor McGreevey and Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Woodbridge.
Since 2013, Kevin has led the Middlesex County Democratic Organization as its elected Chairman, recently securing a fifth consecutive term. He was appointed to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Board of Commissioners in 2017 and currently serves as Chair of the Audit Committee, Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, and a member of both the Finance and Operations Committees.
Kevin previously served as President of the Carpenter Contractor Trust (CCT), where he helped grow the organization into a multistate, multimillion-dollar labor management cooperative. He has also contributed to workforce development policy as an adjunct professor at Kean University and co-author of the book Not Just Getting By, which addresses economic challenges faced by single mothers.
A recognized leader in New Jersey public affairs, Kevin has been featured on the ROI-NJ Power List (2022–2024), NJ Globe’s annual Power List (2018–present), the 2023 NJBIZ Power 100, and the 2024 Insider NJ Top 100 Lobbyists. He serves on the boards of the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers and the New Jersey Hall of Fame Foundation. He holds an MPA from Rutgers University and a BA in Political Science from Kean University. Kevin lives in Metuchen with his wife Laurie and their children, Conor and Ciara Ann.
