FEMA Funds Drive Through-Testing Sites through May: Following a COVID-19 video call earlier today with US Senator Cory Booker, Vice President Mike Pence, Dr. Debbie Brix, White House officials and fellow governors, New Jersey governor Phil Murphy announced today that FEMA has agreed to fund partnered drive-through testing sites in the state, through May.
Hospital Spots for NJ Residents on the USNS Comfort: President Trump granted Governor Murphy’s request to allow New Jersey to have access to some of the available beds on the USNS Comfort, which has been stationed in the Hudson River, on the New York City side, since March 30, 2020.
State Partners with NJTV to host Daily Education Classes: The State of New Jersey has partnered with NJTV to offer “Learning Live,” daily on-air classes for students in grades three (3) to six (6) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Classes started today.
Uncommon Schools’ North Star Academy has also launched an online, K-8 learning website. This learning to is free and open to the public. Every student and every parent in the country has access to this learning platform.
NJEDA’s Small Business Loan Program: On Monday, April 13, 2020 the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) will begin accepting online applications for its Small Business Emergency Assistance Loan Program. This program will provide working capital loans of up to $10,000 to small and mid-sized NJ businesses.

Latest NJ COVID-19 Statistics: New Jersey’s coronavirus rates continue to climb, adding another 3,663 positive tests since yesterday, bringing the statewide total up to 41,090. New Jersey had another 86 Coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the statewide total to 1,003.
Good Neighbor Spotlight: Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey announced that it is extending its previously announced waiver of all member cost-sharing obligations to include all covered benefits associated with treatment for COVID-19. Retroactive to March 1, 2020 and continuing through June 30, 2020, Horizon members will pay no deductible, no copay, and no coinsurance for inpatient and outpatient care when their claim indicates that their treatment is related to COVID-19.

US Small Business Administration Loans: New Jersey’s small businesses and private non-profit organizations facing hardship due to the coronavirus outbreak are eligible to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans. These working capital loans are designed to help small and most non-profits meet their ordinary and financial business obligations during the pandemic.
Applicants may apply online and download applications at https://www.disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
CARES Act: The programs and initiatives in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that was just passed in Congress are intended to assist small business owners with whatever needs they have right now.
