River Crossing Strategy Group Launches New Public Affairs/Communications Practice in Northeast Florida

River Crossing Strategy Group (RCSG) is excited to announce the opening of our new, Northeast Florida office -- a significant milestone for River Crossing Strategy Group as it marks the firm’s first expansion beyond the New York/New Jersey region.

River Crossing Strategy Group has been recognized as one of New Jersey’s top government affairs consulting firms for years. The firm’s principals, Eric Shuffler and Kevin McCabe are well-known as two of the state’s most influential political and policy leaders. Shuffler was most recently recognized as one of New Jersey’s top 150 business leaders in ROI-NJ’s 2023 “Champions of the C-Suite” list. McCabe was most recently recognized in New Jersey Globe’s 2022-23 Power List as the #2 most influential political personality in the state.

Tim White, who has been with RCSG since 2016, has been named the Managing Director of the firm’s Northeast Florida practice. Tim will continue to have an active presence in New Jersey, working with clients, maintaining long-standing relationships with public officials and business leaders and serving on the Board of the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey City University Foundation Board -- while managing and growing the firm’s Northeast Florida practice.

RCSG’s Northeast Florida practice offers local, county, and state-level government relations services, public affairs/issue advocacy management and strategic communications consulting.

Situated in Northeast corridor of the nation’s third largest state, the Jacksonville/St. Johns County area is widely recognized as one of the fastest growing regions in the country, characterized by a flourishing real estate market, world-class healthcare networks, and prestigious public and private educational institutions.

“For well over a year, we’ve been working to expand our firm’s network of relationships with key stakeholders and public officials in the City of Jacksonville and throughout the St. Johns County region. We are an active member of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of several local non-profit organizations, and were recently involved in a community engagement campaign that helped resolve a controversial school board issue in St. Johns County,” said Tim White.

“Over the course of fifteen years, River Crossing Strategy Group has grown into one of New Jersey’s most well-respected lobbying firms. We did this with an intensive focus on client service and substantive and political focus on problem-solving. The expediential economic growth in Northeast Florida has created a unique opportunity for us to build a practice and brand around the same principles that have fueled our success in New Jersey,” said Eric Shuffler, River Crossing’s Founding Partner.

“We see a significant opportunity to utilize Tim’s presence in Florida and his growing relationships to expand the firm’s footprint and generate new opportunities for our existing clients. Tim has a long track record in the public affairs and campaign space and has a demonstrated ability to cultivate new business growth. The combination of his skills, with our existing client portfolio and relationships both in Florida and in New York/New Jersey presents a very exciting expansion opportunity for our firm,” added RCSG Partner Kevin McCabe.

“There is a tremendous amount of economic development, transportation infrastructure and real estate investment happening in St. Johns County and throughout Northeast Florida right now. This is an exciting region to do business in, with a vast amount of business growth opportunities. We welcome Tim and the River Crossing team as they establish and grow their footprint here on the First Coast,” said Bob Porter, VP of Public Affairs with the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce.

Josh Bocian, Sr. Manager of Government Affairs for RCSG client, Grubhub, concluded “Tim and the RCSG team have been an invaluable government relations resource for us in New Jersey and we are excited about the firm’s continued growth and geographical expansion to Northeast Florida.”
